Fluid is an exploration of my own gender identity, and how my gender feels to me. I have often thought of my gender identity in terms of color. My more masculine side often feels like an electric yellow-green, while my whimsical side feels much more bubblegum pinks. My pronouns are she/her, fae/faer, and they/them and I identify as gender fluid.
This piece depicts a two-headed slug splitting off into two different colors, while still sharing the same body. The left side is this electric green, representing my masculine side, where the right side is expressed in poppy pinks to represent my femme expressions. While both colors are contrasting, they share the same body, just as I am uniquely and always me no matter my expression. The gold in all of my pieces is meant to tie the piece together as the representation of my true and pure self.
